Acclaimed Grammy-winning French band Phoenix announced their new album Alpha Zulu out November 4, 2022 via Loyaute / Glassnote Records. Produced by the band itself and recorded at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, which is located inside the Louvre Palace, Alpha Zulu is all that the Phoenix do best: captivating and casual melodies accompanied by an always innovative production. , which gave birth to what is destined to become one of the albums of 2022.
Indeed, Alpha Zulu – the band’s first album following their acclaimed 2017 record Ti Amo – immediately reminds us of what made Phoenix one of the most beloved bands of the past two decades, further testament to their enduring influence that the band has had, and continues to have, about pop culture.
To accompany the announcement of the disc, the release of a new song entitled “Tonight” a duet with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, available everywhere from 7 September. The result is simply sublime. The video, directed by Oscar Boyson, was shot in Tokyo and Paris (partly in the band’s studio at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs), with Ezra and the Phoenix located in similar places but in completely different parts of the world.
