Song of the Day: Tamino – Fascination

The Belgian musician of Egyptian origin Tamino revealed the details of his second album Sahar, due out September 23 on Communion Records. Grandson of one of the most beloved Egyptian singers and actors, Tamino does not hide his ancestry and explores the folk and rock traditions of Europe and the Middle East, for a new work without borders and timeless.

After the international success of his debut album Amir, the artist composed Sahar in his apartment in Antwerp and, already playing piano and guitar, he decided to add the oud, an Arabic lute, thanks to the lessons given by a Syrian refugee living in the same city. This instrument proved to be fundamental in the writing process of the whole album, to which it gave a melancholy veil. Sahar is the result of Tamino’s solitary reflections but also of work with collaborators Colin Greenwood, bassist of Radiohead, PJ Maertens, producer and sound engineer, and Ruben Vanhoutte, drummer. Enjoy the tune!
