The idea for the record was born from the question “What would you do if there was only one day left to live?” and saw Damian Abraham return to the role of lyricist after the stop he took on the previous album.
Fucked Up are a legend of the American and Canadian hardcore scene and ‘One Day’ one of the most energetic, sophisticated and representative albums of their long career.
The band is known for the complexity of their sound, especially when compared to the rest of the North American hardcore scene, with massive concept albums and long performances (up to 12 hours of show in some cases), so it’s a surprise to find that the sixth studio album is the shortest written to date, recorded in just 24 hours (hence the title ‘One Day’).
