The first unreleased track to be released since the acclaimed GRAMMY-winning album Hyperspace, “Thinking About You” is Beck at his purest possible formula. A poignant ballad in the vein of songs that are now classics such as Morning Phase and Sea Change – coincidentally recorded in the same room as the latter – “Thinking About You” features the melancholy tones of Beck’s voice and acoustic guitar accompanied by Blake Mills (guitar, mandolin), Justin Meldal Johnsen (bass) and Roger Manning (keyboards).
“Thinking About You” is released on the eve of a year that will be packed with live performances for Beck. His concert calendar for 2023 begins with a trio of acoustic performances in Australia, includes appearances at Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday party at the Hollywood Bowl and the High Water Festival in North Charleston SC, and concludes with the highly anticipated North American co-headline tour with the Phoenix.
