Song of the Day: Jeremy Tuplin – Dancing On Your Own

Jeremy Tuplin is a singer-songwriter from Somerset, England, capable of writing beautiful indie-rock ballads influenced by alternative, post-punk and 80s wave. ‘Orville’s Discotheque’ is Jeremy Tuplin’s fourth album, a follow-up to the excellent ‘Violet Waves’ and ‘Pink Mirror’ from 2020 and 2019.

Jeremy’s new album is inspired by the myth of Orpheus and the multitude of characters in it: Orpheus himself (here Orville), Eurydice, Hermes, Hades, and Persephone. ‘Orville Discoteque’ takes inspiration from Greek mythology but is also a story in itself set in a world outside the rules of reality. The disc tells of an imperfect clubbing-loving hero and his romantic travails at an indefinite moment in history, between the 1970s and 1980s, or somewhere in the future. Enjoy ‘Dancing (On Your Own)’!
