Based around the songwriting of frontperson and guitarist Sophie Harris, Modern Woman are rounded off by Juan Brint-Gutierrez on bass, David Denyer of percussion, violin, Synth and samples and Adam Blackhurst on Drums.
The song follows on from the London based band’s acclaimed debut EP ‘Dogs Fighting In My Dream’ and previous single ‘Ford’ which saw them win early praise and their sonic eclecticism and ferocious live show earning a diverse array of comparisons from Sonic Youth via Black Country, New Road to Kate Bush.
“‘Achtung’ was a song that I wrote around the bassline when I didn’t have any other instruments around, which when we developed as a band focused on trying to build a kind of tension and release within the music” Said Harris of the song. “Lyrically it’s a bit of a stream of consciousness about memories of childhood.” Enjoy the tune!
