This Is All Yours

C’erano una volta le cassette, gli amici intenditori di musica e le compilation che ti facevano scoprire nuovi generi e musicisti. Abbiamo cercato di riproporre questo ‘rito’ vintage in chiave moderna chiedendo consiglio a chi di musica ne sa più di tutti: gli addetti ai lavori. Tre canzoni, tre scelte, nessuna limitazione. Sono queste le uniche regole che This Is Pop? ha seguito per chiedere a musicisti, etichette, giornalisti, speaker radiofonici una playlist di tre brani. L’entusiasmo che ci ha coinvolto nel raggiungere tutte queste persone è pari a quello che abbiamo riscontrato nelle risposte: il risultato è una rubrica dal titolo This Is All Yours, un regalo importante che, come le compilation in cassetta, ci permetterà di conoscere generi e artisti di ogni tempo e, soprattutto, di ascoltare buona musica.

La prima stagione di This Is Pop? parte il 19 settembre 2016, tra debutti e première si arriva ben presto al primo piccolo/grande traguardo per la sessantesima puntata: la rubrica This Is All Yours, in cui addetti ai lavori (musicisti, giornalisti, manager, etichette) ci hanno proposto tre brani a testa in assoluta libertà. Per la novantesima puntata arriva lo speciale con Spin-Go!, agenzia di stampa che collabora con molte delle etichette indie più importanti del panorama internazionale, mentre il 20 febbraio 2017 arriva il fatidico giro di boa: la centesima puntata del programma vede la partecipazione della storica etichetta britannica Rough Trade. Seguono nella primavera dello stesso anno gli speciali con la Polyvinyl Records e la partnership con l’Independent Label Market tenutosi il primo aprile a Londra. Lunedì 24 aprile va in onda lo speciale Trojan & Island, incentrato sulle storiche etichette dub e reggae.

Il 29 maggio 2017 è nuovamente tempo di festeggiare: le centocinquanta candeline vengono spente dalla prestigiosa 4AD. Il 22 maggio e il primo giugno si celebrano rispettivamente il ventennale e i cinquant’anni di due album storici: Ok Computer e Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Si arriva così in pieno clima estivo e vacanziero: gli ultimi speciali sono Fierce Panda (con la première mondiale di Phantom Pain degli Easy Kill) e Factory Flaws. Il 5 luglio va in onda l’ultima puntata della prima stagione.
