A radio show. A blog. A box of sounds.

Listening Club

Every week the Listening Club playlist is updated with Songs of the Day and all the music you will find on This Is Pop?. It is so called because the idea came from the Listening Bars, they are venues dedicated to listening to music, found worldwide. Originating in Japan in the 1950s as derivatives of kissaten, they offer a social experience that deviates from traditional bars, promoting attentive and concentrated music listening. Characterized by well-defined stylistic laws, they feature modern and minimal design, an intimate and comfortable atmosphere, and offer the best hi-fi equipment for lasting consumption. While considered temples of listening, in cities like Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and Milan, they have adopted a more Western conception of the bar, hybridizing with a more traditional consumption experience.
