Song of the Day: Crumb – Amama

Crumb are a Brooklyn-based band, led by talented singer and guitarist Lila Ramani, who reached the milestone of their third album after the excellent response of their first two self-published works for their own Crumb Records.
“The title track ‘Amama’ is dedicated to my grandmother, after whom I am named. A sample of her voice is present throughout the track,’ says Lila Ramani. It is a love song! The video was directed by my partner and creative director of Crumb (Abraham El Makawy). The video was made by mixing archive footage of his family, the neighbourhood where we grew up, live performances by the band and drawings by 702 fans who helped us animate the last part of the video. The title track is the spiritual centre of our new album.”

‘Amama’ is an album that passionately plays with psychedelia, pop, jazz and rock, cementing Crumb’s role within the contemporary psych-rock scene. The new album was produced by John Scott Sanford and Jonathan Rado of Foxygen in Los Angeles. This Is Pop? today’s song of the day is here for you.
