‘Oyster Cuts’ is Quivers’ fourth album, their first for Merge, and comes three years after their last “Golden Doubt”.
The Melbourne band recorded the new album with producer Matthew Redlich, who had already worked on the previous ‘Golden Doubt’. Quivers is a cathartic indie-rock band that has been on the radar of prestigious international media outlets such as Pitchfork, NPR and KEXP Seattle for years.
The band consists of Sam Nicholson, Bella Quinlan, Holly Thomas and Michael Panton.
In 2020, the Australian band released a cover album of REM’s ‘Out of Time’, one of the favourite albums of the members of Quivers and one that influenced the way they write, compose and record. Enjoy the title track! This Is Pop? today’s song of the day is here for you.
