Porridge Radio – Sick of the Blues

“Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There for Me” is the fourth album by the band led by the talented poet and musician Dana Margolin, and the third released through Secretly Canadian.

Porridge Radio is one of the most beloved bands in the new British post-punk scene, thanks in part to the appeal of their leader, Dana Margolin, and her unique way of writing and arranging songs that appear calm on the surface but have a tense and explosive undertone.

Regarding the new album, Dana Margolin says: “‘Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There for Me’ comes from a frantic and desperate kind of love. It talks about completely losing your sense of self in a relationship and the deep residue of insecurity and pain that lingers and clouds a new relationship. The record captured something of our friendship as a band and the way we’ve learned to play together. It taught me a lot. Following instinct to the extreme, trusting friends and their loyalty, trusting yourself enough to argue with people in the right way and still come back together. The way I want to live is the way I want to make records, because making records is my life, because my work is my fun, my work is my life. Everything ties into this, and there are ways to do it that might not kill me.” This Is Pop? today’s song of the day is here for you.
