Gia Ford – Housewife Dreams of America

The visionary Gia Ford announced in recent months her highly anticipated debut album ‘Transparent Things’, released on 13 September, via Chrysalis Records.
Recorded in Los Angeles at the renowned Sound City Studios with legendary producer Tony Berg (known for his work on albums such as ‘Stranger in the Alps’ and Phoebe Bridgers’ “Punisher”), “Transparent Things” is an immersive collection that shows how Gia is able to create songs like no other artist of her generation.

Alienation is the main theme running through the whole album: ‘Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts, all with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow’. Gia states. Although each song operates in its own realm, all tracks are connected by a line of eccentricity that turns Transparent Things into an odyssey of outcasts. ‘Thematically it has a mythical quality, stemming from the repeated references to creatures, ghosts and undefined spirits. It’s a world of its own, where the characters have more in common than I initially thought was possible.’ Enjoy ‘Housewife Dreams of America’: This Is Pop? today’s song of the day is here for you.
