Friends and labelmates since their teens, Romy and Sampha collaborate for the first time on the new single ‘I’m on your team’, written during sessions for other artists and recorded in London after the release of their acclaimed albums LAHAI and Mid Air in 2023, together with co-producer and composer Thomas Bartlett.

It is an astonishingly beautiful song that documents the stages of a relationship, from the dreamy, carefree moment of first falling in love, to the more real, everyday love of a long-term relationship that requires dedication and commitment. As Romy says: ‘It’s a love song, but the lyrics are honest and true, as if to say: we’ve lived the magic and the dream, but now we’ve been through a lot together and I’m committed’, while Sampha adds: ‘I like the idea of being part of a team where you have to be there for each other, and from there you can create an even deeper bond’.
