Big Love – Never Enough

Fast-rising Dublin six-piece Big Love returned with their new single “Never Enough”. Recorded in London with the help of producer Matt Glasbey (Alt-J, Sorry, Bloc Party), the song perfectly exemplifies why the band have been on such an incendiary rise and sees them continue to deliver on all their early promise. Combining ruminative guitar and piano lines with fervent, danceable drumming and anthemic vocals, the track slowly builds wistful atmospherics around the repeated lyrics “I was never enough” until the instrumentation breaks out into an almost post-rock inflected climax.

Speaking on the track, lead vocalist Cian Ó’Maonlaí says: “The song is about being saved. When a light comes into life to take you from the dark—something so beautiful, so true—that you feel unworthy. Love is medicine, and in writing this song, I wanted to express how fortunate I feel to be in receipt of the light that shone in for me.”
