Este, Danielle and Alana Haim – the three California sisters from the San Fernando Valley who joined forces in the eponymous indie-pop trio – release their brand new single “Relationships”.
The song is the first preview of the upcoming new album and was produced by Rostam Batmanglij (Charli XCX) and Buddy Ross (Miley Cyrus) together with Danielle Haim herself.
The song is accompanied by the music video clip-directed by Camille Summers Valli-which features actor Drew Starkey (famous for his role in the Netlix series “Outer Banks,” the ‘Scream’ series and Luca Guadagnino’s film “Queer”).
“What’s all this talk about relationships?” sing the girls in the single, which is about feelings and, indeed, relationships. The cover of “Relationships” is, in this regard, sympathetically inspired by the viral photo of Nicole Kidman’s divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, portrayed walking around dressed in a pink blouse and green skirt, enjoying the sun on her face with her arms outstretched and exultant with joy.
With a nostalgic gaze turned to the quiet, psychedelic harmonies of 1970s American soft-rock and a keen eye for new styles and trends, HAIM can be counted among the most interesting acts in the contemporary indie-pop scene.
