Indigo De Souza – Heartthrob

Indie-pop singer-songwriter Indigo De Souza has announced the release of her new album Precipice, due in July. Leading the way is the single “Heartthrob,” an energetic track that anticipates the North Carolina musician’s sonic evolution.

“Heartthrob” blends pop and rock elements while maintaining De Souza’s typical emotional force. The singer explained that the song stems from the need to process painful personal experiences related to physical trauma. The song thus becomes an angry and liberating cry, a way of reclaiming control over one’s body and sending a message of resistance against abuse.

In addition to music, De Souza is actively involved in social causes: she participated in a benefit album to help victims of the Asheville floods, which also affected her personally, and she recently took part in a major political event in support of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Los Angeles. Her art is thus intertwined with civic engagement and the story of her own resilience.
