Florence and the Machine – Everybody Scream

Florence and the Machine’s new album will be released on October 31st. In the meantime, the British artist has released the powerful single ‘Everybody Scream’, produced by Mark Bowen of Idles.

After undergoing life-saving surgery during the “Dance Fever Tour,” Florence’s recovery led her down a path of spiritual mysticism, witchcraft, and folk horror, as she felt the limits of her body and explored the meaning of “healing.” The album tackles themes such as femininity, relationships, aging, and death, laying bare the dark side of everyday life. In addition to Bowen and Welch herself, the album “Everybody Scream” is produced by James Ellis Ford and Aaron Dessner. The songs were written by the singer, the Idles guitarist, and Mitski.

‘Everybody Scream’ is a powerful, dark song. It is both an exorcism and an act of witchcraft. It combines Welch’s splendid vocals with imposing choruses and verses seeking redemption.
