Peiriant – Pwls

‘Pwls’ (or Pulse in English) is the first single from Peiriant’s upcoming third album, ‘Plant’.

The track is rhythmic, pulsing, and full-bodied. The violin, played pizzicato, moves with a driven yet laid-back feel — more like a stand-up bass — beneath an energetic, randomized bassline from the Moog Grandmother. Chopped samples weave in and out, while ebow-controlled electric guitar adds atmosphere, and layers of percussion contribute to a tightly-woven, immersive sound.

A highlight of recent live performances — including sets at Green Man and Sŵn — ‘Pwls’ pushes Peiriant’s atmospheric drone-folk into new, rhythm-rich territory. The single also introduces artwork by Amber Hiscott, featuring a detail from her painting Violette Enters the World.
