Yumi Zouma is a transcontinental indie-pop group that crosses shoegaze, dream-pop, and synth-pop. ‘No Love Lost To Kindness’ is their fifth album due out on January 30. “Phoebe’s Song” is the new single from the record.
Since forming in New Zealand in 2013, the members of Yumi Zouma—Christie Simpson (vocals, keyboards), Josh Burgess (guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards), Charlie Ryder (guitar, bass, keyboards), and Olivia Campion (drums)—have since moved to different cities: Christie currently lives in Melbourne, Charlie in London, Josh in New York, and Olivia in Wellington, New Zealand. Nevertheless, the band has maintained strong relationships with each other.
Although technically it all started in New Zealand, the band recorded their first four albums – ‘Yoncalla’ (2016), ‘Willowbank’ (2017), ‘Truth or Consequences’ (2020), ‘Present Tense’ (2022) – all over the world, from Paris to London, Florence, Los Angeles, and back home again.
This is pop? today’s song of the day is here for you.
