Stockholm trio Vero return with Razor Tongue, their second full-length album. Following their 2022 debut Unsoothing Interior, the record marks a shift toward a more direct and unfiltered sound, built on urgency and instinct rather than refinement.
Written and recorded over a short, intense period, Razor Tongue embraces speed and immediacy. The songs were developed without revisiting takes or overworking arrangements, resulting in wiry alt-rock shaped by punk tension and sharp melodic turns. Recorded live in the room as a four-piece with drummer Mille Hökengren, the album leans into contrast and physicality, balancing jagged guitars, explosive choruses, and tightly coiled momentum. Lyrically, it focuses on obsession, loneliness, and uncertain expressions of love, tracing emotional states that feel unresolved and exposed.
Vero are Julia Boman (bass, vocals), Amanda Eddestål (guitar), and Clara Gyökeres (guitar). Based in Stockholm, the band developed Razor Tongue after building their own rehearsal and recording space, which became central to the album’s creation. Their songwriting draws from alternative rock and punk without settling into fixed references, favoring shifts in mood and structure. Boman’s vocal delivery plays a key role, moving between restraint and intensity, and giving the band a clear and recognizable identity within the album’s raw and restless sound.
