Nottingham’s Bloodworm have shared “Bloodlust,” their first single of the year, marking a striking introduction to the fully-formed trio. The track immediately sets the tone for a band whose presence is already creating a buzz.
Honing their sound through a series of formative shows over the past eighteen months, Bloodworm have quickly built a dedicated following. Their atmospheric single “Bloodlust” blends shadowy post-punk tones with propulsive basslines and shimmering guitars, drawing comparisons to The Cure, The Sound, and Echo & The Bunnymen. The release is accompanied by a video directed by Seth Lloyd, capturing the moody, intense energy of the track. Frontman George Curtis explains that the song reflects “the duality of relationships and the angst of being stuck in a small town,” aiming to convey the raw excitement of starting something new and fully immersing in music.
The trio has already made waves with sold-out shows, including headline performances at The Bodega and early London appearances. Their growing reputation has even caught the attention of Suede’s Richard Oakes, who invited them to join his band on a 17-date sold-out tour. Bloodworm’s blend of atmospheric post-punk, youthful energy, and live intensity positions them as one of the most exciting new acts emerging from Nottingham.
