Arlo Parks – Heaven

Arlo Parks has dropped a new single, “Heaven,” offering a first glimpse of her upcoming album. The track hints at a bold, dance-driven direction while staying true to her signature poetic style.

“Heaven” bursts with cathartic, driving bass, inspired by Arlo dancing to a morning set by friend DJ Kelly Lee Owens at a Los Angeles rave. A bold departure from her previous work, the track channels her love for underground electronic dance music and intricate drum patterns. Led by a hypnotic techno bassline, the song captures the feeling of wanting the night to never end. In her own words, Arlo explains: “Heaven is about euphoria, community, and being present. Being in a room full of strangers who sweat, connect, get lost, and find themselves again is a kind of magic beyond words. This song was my attempt to capture that feeling.”

“Heaven” follows the release of “2SIDED,” which offered the first glimpse of the album. Both tracks reflect the energy Arlo has been exploring in club spaces, experimenting with sounds that feel alive, immersive, and cathartic. Rooted in nightlife experiences, Ambiguous Desire draws from Arlo’s deep dive into dance floors and underground scenes. The album blends moody British beats, shimmering synths, and house grooves, replacing live band sessions with modular synths and samplers that capture the vibrant spaces she inhabits—all while highlighting the poetry and lyrical intimacy that define her music.
